| “Where Only the Best Will Do!” By Sandy Zimmerman Las Vegas offers many luxury spas, but the Spa at Encore is in a CLASS BY ITSELF! Steve Wynn, Chairman & CEO of Wynn Resorts, has created his latest jewel, the Encore Resort and Casino, where only the best will do. After experiencing the treatments and the atmosphere, you will know the true meaning of the word “pampering”. We took the design tour with Todd-Avery Lenahan, founder of ABA Design Studio, during Encore’ s Media Week. Responsible for the Encore’s Spa and Room design, he explained, “This spa is not the usual concept. Most spas make you believe you are dealing with wellness, weight loss, becoming more focused and a better human machine. The Spa at Encore is all about pampering, making you feel exotic and wonderful. They make you look glamorous in a glamorous atmosphere and all those things that go with beauty. You will feel more spiritually centered and more beautiful. I feel better in a balanced space than unbalanced space. The spa accomplishes all of this in an extraordinary way. I feel much better in a beautiful space than an ugly one. It is completely unique and original in design. The curved ceiling looks like a Gothic cathedral. Ryan Crabbe, Spa Director, commented, “The Spa is an amazingly designed facility. I was walking through the atrium the other day when three gentlemen arrived. One man felt as though he was in China, the second man compared the décor to Greece, while the third chimed in ‘no, no, no, I am in Italy!’ The Spa has global flair to its design. It is really neat to operate a spa and lead a team of spa professionals with a welcoming space, a space that is very emotional, that helps the guests relax before they even experience their treatments. Some of the joys of being a guest are enjoying our Water Transformation circuit. We encourage guests to take the waters and enjoy the steam room, sauna, hot plunges an even the warm chaise lounges. The water cures are detoxifying, they have a physical effect on the body. The hot plunge pool relaxes the muscles, encourages natural detoxification through sweating. After you cycled through a sauna, steam room and hot plunge pool, you are ready to be cooled off. The two cold plunges |

| are designed to reset the bodies’ temperature and stabilize the environment for guests. You can only stand one minute in the first cold pool and two-three seconds in the second. There are also two pool-sized Jacuzzis set at 103 degrees and 106 degrees. The special atmosphere leads you into your treatment. We want the spa to be an emotional place with bubbling water urns and Chinese lanterns.” Ryan described the Four-Hand Massage. “This is considered the most profound type of massage and body treatment a guest can have. Our therapists are trained and constantly practice to make sure the guests experience a massage almost given by one person. The two therapists have to make sure the massage is synchronized with a flow and natural rhythm to their work. Guests feel this is a complete experience.” If you like a massage, just imagine two therapists at the same time. We discussed some of their other treatments. Ryan said, “The stone massage originated back with the ancient Indian tribes. A lot of our services are inspired by the wellness philosophy of Ayurvedic therapies. They use spices, coconut sugar, cucumber mint, and bubbly mimosa body scrubs as a natural compliment to the treatment. Guests are becoming more creative in their selection of unique spa treatments.” I thoroughly enjoyed the Salon at Encore. Their Custom Pedicure is a super-hydrating pedicure packed with vitamins and minerals to promote healthy-looking feet. We choose between a moisturizing mask and massage or hot stone massage. The large chairs faced the outside window for a wonderful view while being pampered. There were curtains surrounding our pedicure chair which gave us the feeling of being in our own private room. MOTTO: “The Spa is designed around the most important person in the world: you.
